- ===== Text entry available to you in the program. =====
-
- Two types of text entry are available to you in the program: memos and
- comments . For a general discussion of the memos and the Memo Options Menu,
- see these appendices in 'PROGRAM.REF', Other Options Menu, selection 8.
-
-
- Overview of Memo Options:
- Every client and activity record has its own word processor!
- Client Memo............................................Appendix K-I
- Activity Memos........................................Appendix K-II
- Quick Memo [TM].......................................Appendix K-III
- Establish system-wide values for Quick Memo [TM].......Appendix K-IV
-
-
-
- Types of comments: fixed versus variable
-
- As an example of a fixed comment, observe the first comment available to you
- in every activity record. It contains 200 characters and is preceded with
- this title:
-
- 'Comments'
-
- To learn how a variable comment works, observe this phrase immediately below
- 'Comments' in each activity record:
-
-
- 'Other Comments:'
-
-
- As you enter text in the 'Other Comments' field, the program will save every
- single line that you type. As with any word processor, you can press the
- 'Enter' key as many times as you wish, then use the 'Up' arrow to return to
- that line where you left off.
-
- Once the program senses that you are typing into 'Other Comments:', it then
- displays this information:
-
- ------------------------------------------------------------------
- |
- Press <Ctrl>+<W> to save changes or <ESC> to discard. |
- Current position is line 1, column 0 |
- |
- ------------------------------------------------------------------

- [continued]
-
-
- To apply any search criteria against the Other Comments, go to the Search
- Through Data Menu, then read the Help screen for options 5 and 6.
-
- If you invoke Flash Report [TM] while in the client file, you will be
- displayed any Memos or Other Comments behind the activity records
- associated with that client.
-
- You can also observe the Other Comments while making callbacks. To
- understand this process, go to the Callback Options menu. Read the Help
- screen for option 4, an excerpt of which is below:
-
-
-
- ==============
- | OPTION 4: |
- ==============
-
- "4) Display of Other Comments"
-
- By pressing Option 4 repeatedly, you have three selections to choose from:
-
-
- "[Other Comments disabled ]"
-
- "[Prompt for Other Comments ]"
-
- "[Always display Other Comments]"
-
-
- Selection 1 will disable the appearance of the Other Comments in options 1
- and 2 of this Callback Menu. Selection 2 will prompt you for a single
- character to display the Other Comments but defaults to a 'False' state and
- will not require you to accept it. Selection 3 will always display the
- Other Comments for any one person in the Callback process.
