  4. Two  types  of text entry are available to you in the  program:   memos  and 
  5. comments .  For a general discussion of the memos and the Memo Options Menu, 
  6. see these appendices in 'PROGRAM.REF', Other Options Menu, selection 8.

  18.                  Types of comments: fixed versus variable
  19.  
  20. As an example of a fixed comment, observe the first comment available to you 
  21. in  every activity record.   It contains 200 characters and is preceded with 
  22. this title:

  24.                                 'Comments'

  26. To learn how a variable comment works, observe this phrase immediately below 
  27. 'Comments' in each activity record:

  30.                            'Other Comments:'
  31.

  33. As you enter text in the 'Other Comments' field, the program will save every 
  34. single line that you type.   As with any word processor,  you can press  the 
  35. 'Enter' key as many times as you wish,  then use the 'Up' arrow to return to 
  36. that line where you left off.

  38. Once the program senses that you are typing into  'Other Comments:', it then 
  39. displays this information:

  53. To  apply any search criteria against the Other Comments,  go to the  Search 
  54. Through Data Menu, then read the Help screen for options 5 and 6.
  55.  
  56. If  you  invoke  Flash Report [TM] while in the client  file,  you  will  be 
  57. displayed    any  Memos  or  Other  Comments  behind  the  activity  records 
  58. associated with that client.

  60. You  can  also  observe  the Other  Comments  while  making  callbacks.   To 
  61. understand  this process,  go to the Callback Options menu.   Read the  Help 
  62. screen for option 4, an excerpt of which is below:

  72. By pressing Option 4 repeatedly, you have three selections to choose from:

  82. Selection  1 will disable the appearance of the Other Comments in options 1 
  83. and  2  of this Callback Menu.   Selection 2 will prompt you for  a  single 
  84. character to display the Other Comments but defaults to a 'False' state and 
  85. will  not require you to accept it.   Selection 3 will always  display  the 
  86. Other Comments for any one person in the Callback process.
